D1.1[a] – End-Users and Business Requirements report is a coral deliverable prepared and revised by all PLUG-N-HARVEST project partners. It sets a common framework and a methodology that allows the involved stakeholders of PLUG-N-HARVEST project to measure and analyse the achieved results in every performed task, comparing these with the expected impact and key objectives defined in the DoA. These requirements will be addressed and expressed with requirements impact KPIs.

The indicators have been sorted between those directly related with project performance evaluation (called Key Performance Indicators or “KPI”, with 17 indicators) and those useful at a methodological level to develop or monitor the performance of the proposed solutions, to address a certain normative or to calculate some of the defined KPIs (called Design Performance Indicators or “DPI”, with 28 indicators).

The Level(s) framework was used as reference framework for the definition of the relevant indicators to carry out performance evaluation of building construction and/or rehabilitation under the circular economy principles.

D1.2.1[a] Use Case Site Survey and Audit Report is a deliverable of the PLUG-N-HARVEST project
which based on the surveys, workshops, meetings and interviews of project partners and brief simulation works from Cardiff University. It investigated the state of the art use cases of energy harvesting façades, conducted a building current situation survey and a user satisfaction survey and provided a series of test scenarios to understand the relation between energy generation and renewable sources installation orientation and climate condition caused influence on the energy generation.

The information gathered in this task is supporting “Task 1.5 Active-façade CFD simulation and optimisation guidelines”, “Task 2.2 Energy Assessment through Building and Equipment Dynamic Simulation” and their deliverables.

D1.2.2[a] Evaluation Plan is a deliverable of the PLUG-N-HARVEST project which based on the
surveys, workshops, meetings and interviews of project partners. It investigated the historical energy and weather data and the existing metering system of the five pilot site. Baseline assessment and evaluation plan are proposed in the deliverable. The proposed metering system and monitoring equipment are provided after summarising the tangible and intangible needs of stakeholders and research partners of PLUG-N-HARVEST project.

The baseline assessment and evaluation provided the detailed values and methods to obtain the essential information to calculate the 17 KPIs which defined in the D 1.1. Proposed metering system and equipment are utilised to obtain the essential data which current metering and equipment cannot provide.

The information gathered in this task is supporting “Task 1.5 Active-façade CFD simulation and optimisation guidelines”, “Task 2.2 Energy Assessment through Building and Equipment Dynamic Simulation” and their deliverables.

D1.3[a] System engineering requirement definition report is a deliverable of the PLUG-N-HARVEST project based on the surveys, workshops, meetings and interviews of project partners. The report firstly reviewed the current situation of every pilot site in terms of the building fabric performance, HVAC system, usability and operation of controls, lighting system, structure performance, fire prevention, cultural aesthetic and requirements of the neighbourhood, waste recycle and incentive scheme, transport and performance of low carbon technologies. Then, construction requirements on these aspects are proposed. The report aims to provide a basic understanding of the current situation of each pilot site and a number of construction requirements which should be considered during the design process of the PLUG-N-HARVEST modular façade.

This first version of D5.6.1 – Market Analysis and Business Plans lays out the first approach of the market analysis in which the potential for the building renovation sector has been carried out and presents the different possibilities of Circular Economy Business Models (CEBM) exploring their possibilities for PLUG-N-HARVEST future exploitation.

The general market analysis shows that the European Union (EU) have great possibilities for the future commercialisation of the PLUG-N-HARVEST solutions. The great amount of relatively or very old buildings found in the building park in the EU constitutes a huge potential market, although several barriers are still to be overcame. Public administration leadership establishing financial aid measures and clear and stable regulation will be of paramount importance. With the current push from the EU public administrations for CE, solutions like PLUG-N-HARVEST show great potential for future exploitation.

The CEBM analysis shows that there is a number of possibilities to be implemented for PLUG-N- HARVEST exploitation. However, the project is still at too early stage to precisely establish what business model yields better results and the different actors and roles that they will unfold in its final implementation. Future versions of D5.6.1 will further develop these aspects of the business plans.

This first version of D5.6.2 – Exploitation Plans lays out the first approach of the exploitation strategies for the three Direct Exploitable Results (DER) identified in D5.6.1: the entire PLUG-N-HARVEST solution (ADBE+IMCS+OEMS) and the two partial solutions (ADBE+IMCS and ADBE alone). The creation, delivery and capture of value, the identification of the roles required for their exploitation and their presence or absence within the consortium are detailed at the current stage of the project.

From the most important roles required to implement the solutions that are currently being designed, the presence within the consortium of almost all possible service providers and the required consultants and designers/developers stands out. It is also worth mentioning the absence of some crucial figures for the exploitation of PLUG-N-HARVEST entire or partial solution. Among them, especially highlights the absence of a partner to assemble/mount the designed solution.

This first approach is expected to be further detailed in future versions of the deliverable as the definitive specifications of the solutions that are being developed are defined and therefore the services that can be offered and the more suitable Circular Economy Business Models (CEBM) to do so are clear.

The present document is a deliverable of the Plug-n-Harvest project, funded by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation (DG RTD), under its Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation programme (H2020).

This document presents the Plug-n-Harvest Dissemination Plans and Promotion (DPP), both laying down the methodology to be followed for dissemination and exploitation actions and outlines the actions to be taken, to maximize the impact of Plug-n-Harvest results.

The Plug-n-Harvest DPP will be systematically updated at M12, M24 and M36. A version of the DPP will be then inserted into each project periodic report.

This report outlines the communication and dissemination activities of the PLUG-N-HARVEST project in its first year, from September 2017 to August 2018. It summarises progress and deliverables related to the project identity, online communication, internal communication and dissemination.

Finally, the report discusses reflection on the progress made in the first year of the project and defines upcoming priorities and tasks in the second year.

Risk Assessment along with detailed Contingency Planning are provided for the technical and scientific results and other objectives of the project. The Expanded Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (EFMEA) technique is chosen to meet the needs of PLUG-N-HARVEST after having taken into account the evaluation in the literature among Risk Analysis Methods in research environments and considering PLUG-N-HARVEST needs. The technique is thoroughly described introducing variables such as Severity (S), Occurrence (O), Detectability (D) and Recoverability (R) for each risk.
